Understanding Endometriosis

blog8

Endometriosis is a condition where cells similar to those of the uterus, emerge and grow outside of the uterus. Usually 10% of all women of reproductive age are affected. Symptoms can be debilitating. Typically they include pain, bladder and bowel issues, vaginal discomfort, painful sex, fatigue, mood swings and heavy, irregular and usually painful periods. It is one of the most common conditions linked to infertility.

Common medical interventions:
  • oral contraceptives
  • IUD’s
  • anti inflammatory medications
  • surgery

I prefer opting for natural alternatives. Managing endometriosis involves looking at the gut, liver, inflammatory pathways and boosting the immune system. With the right diet and nutritional support, you can get unbelievable relief. If you’d like to know more or have any questions, feel free to get in touch.
